i listened to an album the other day for the first time and there was a lot - quite a few of the songs hit.
i'm not afraid to say that driving along, some made tears well up a bit - it was the robbie williams escapology album, the songs "better man" and "come undone" had lines in them that really hit home.

The 'worshipping' of GB-members is very American I guess. I remember the international convention in Paris when Bro Barr had the latest talk. I was talking with a few American bro/sis's and they were crying because they just spoke with him. Maybe I responded a bit too Dutch and down too earth, but they got very angry with me when I said 'why, he's just a brother, the same as us'...
My dad went to the international convention in Neurenberg in the 60's and still tells to studies that bro Knorr was waiting in the same queue for coffee as he was. I guess it is very important for Dutch people that you stay 'normal'. (Dutch saying:'Just act normal, then you're acting crazy enough as it is!) Show-offs and people who brag about how much money they're worth are usually put to their place. Our mayer for example cycles to his work every day. So we just try to ignore that 'diva-behavior'...

I read on the Dutch ex-JW forum that a letter was read about a new car 'arrangement' for circuit overseer , district overseer and so on. Until now paid a town (usually ) payed the cost of the car / petrol of such persons . There is now a ( more or less global ? ) arrangement . There are lease cars for circuit overseer ( simple but reliable models ...), each circuit representative in the Netherlands will receive the same car .
Each congregation will pay per publisher per year so for € 7.50 per publisher per year , all costs should be covered . This is in line with the principle of equality .
What has not been told , is where the cars are leased . I imagine that the society will purchase the cars themselves , and will lease it to the circuit overseer to use the cars , and congregations to pay them . It is almost inevitable , because otherwise it means that the society has to work in different countries with different leasing companies , and then there is no ' equality ' . But that is speculation on my part , of course .The arrangement will begin in mid March .
Is this global or just a Dutch arrangement? Any news on that?

Hypocrisy 101 - Watchtower has Payed for College/College Courses for Bethelites!

i was out to eat this weekend with two bethelites.
one gave a talk in my hall and i was invited out to dinner with them by another family in my hall.. as the conversation always turns to "spiritual" things, the subject of education was brought up.

In the Netherlands a few Bethelites went to Universitity to get a degree in Sign Language. They're not on Bethel anymore, but serve as CO's in the sign language field.

They forget to mention the same text in Luke 12:
